What you can expect when you visit

New households stopping in will be asked to fill out paperwork with minimal requirements.

  1. The head of the household (or whoever will be regularly stopping in to pick up orders) will need to fill out an intake form with their first and last name, birth date, and zip code, along with the names and birthdates of those in their household. Additional information (like address, phone number, etc) can be shared, which is helpful but not required.
  2. The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP) for NYS requires an attestation form for eligibility be filled out, based on whether a household already has SNAP, WIC, TANF, Medicaid, or SSI, or if the household's gross annual income is at or below the details listed here based on household size.
  3. We partner with The Food Pantries of the Capital District, which provides a network of service providers for clients. A Release of Information (ROI) form is filled out by clients to allow us to share household information solely within this network, should a household need a referral for any reason. Clients have the right to refuse that we share info within this organization.
  4. With every visit, every household fills out an order form of food items that they would prefer. We are able to fill 9 meals per individual each month according to HPNAP requirements. The amount of items received in an order is based on the number in the household.

We NEVER share information without client approval. All records are kept secure.

In addition to filled food orders, we have shelves of free-choice items from which clients can shop for extra food items, household items, personal care items, and seasonal items (school supplies, Christmas items, etc).
